New York, NY – Quran DuBois scored a career-high 32 points including hitting a game-tying three with less than a second left in regulation to lead the SUNY Canton men's basketball team to a 126-114 overtime win at Hunter College on Thursday.
The 126 points by the Roos are the most in the D-III era and the most in at least the last 11 seasons. The second most points scored by a SUNY Canton team was 107, which was done on three occasions, most recently v. NVU-Lyndon on February 8, 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SUNY Canton trailed by eight points (106-98) with 43 seconds left in regulation. Brandon Averitt knocked down a three with 31 seconds left off a DeMerrill Levy offensive rebound to get Canton within 106-101.
- Levy and Fadil Atcha-Dedji combined to force a turnover on the ensuing possession and this time DuBois knocked down a triple off another offensive board with 15 seconds left drawing the Roos within 106-104.
- Hunter split a pair of free throws as the Roos inbounded following a timeout. Averitt and DuBois passed back-and-forth at the top of the key looking for an open look as DuBois' three was nothing but net with just under a second left to force overtime.
- The Hawks scored the first two points of the extra session but it was all Canton the remainder of the way. The Roos outscored the hosts 19-5 the rest of the way including a 10-0 run.
- DuBois had 13 points in the final 15 seconds of regulation plus overtime, while Brennan Harmer scored seven points in the extra session.
- SUNY Canton outscored Hunter 58-48 in the opening half, while Hunter had a 59-49 edge on the scoreboard in the second 20 minutes.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- DuBois led all players with 32 points shooting 11-for-18 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free throw line to go with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. His 32 points are a career-high and break his previous best mark of 22 points on February 14, 2020 v. NVU-Lyndon.
- Santana tallied 28 points on 9-for-14 shooting from the field and a 9-for-11 mark from the line to go with seven rebounds and five assists. Harmer netted a career-best 16 points breaking his previous high from this season of seven.
- Averitt finished with 15 points on five three-pointers, while Levy chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and four assists. Andrew Fitch supplied eight points, six blocks, five assists and four rebounds. Atcha-Dedji hauled down a team-high 12 boards to go with six points.
- The Roos shot 53.7% from the field and 41.2% from three-point range in the game, while Hunter posted marks of 29.3% and 27.9%, respectively.
- Canton committed 34 turnovers which led to 33 points for Hunter. The Hawks only turned the ball over 18 times. Hunter held a 59-31 edge in bench points, while the Roos controlled points in the paint, 54-30.
- Ryan Lau led the Hawks with 31 points, while Cormac Reilly (18), Raheem Bakary (15), Jeremy Montrose (14) and Luka Jakic (12) all scored in double figures.
