Auburn, MA – Brandon McCorriston made 37 saves in his first collegiate start and Jake Mayette recorded a goal and assist to lead the SUNY Canton men's hockey team to a 4-2 road win at Anna Maria College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The hosts got on the board first just 2:36 into the contest when Michael Padgeon found the back of the net.
• The Roos evened the game at one apiece at 16:12 of the opening period when Sam Martin put home his first career goal off passes from Mayette and Matthew Headland.
• Carson Lanceleve gave Canton its first lead of the game 2:50 into the middle period off the setup from Brady Morrison and Colton Sipperley.
• The Amcats knotted the game at 2-2 at the 14:08 mark of the period off the stick of Guillaume Coulombe.
• Just more than three minutes later Lucas Roy scored what proved to be the game-winner shortly after coming out of the penalty box. Brendan Morrow and Jarrod Croswell picked up helpers on the play.
• Anna Maria pulled the goalie for the extra skater late and Mayette sealed the win with the empty-netter. Sean Shepard and Jesse Farabee were credited with assists on the goal.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Amcats outshot the Roos 39-18, while Canton controlled face offs 49-40.
• McCorriston was outstanding in goal finishing with 37 saves in his first collegiate appearance. The Welland, Ontario native stopped double digit shots in every period including 16 in the opening frame.
• Brendan Boncore made 14 saves for the Anna Maria.
