Adams’ 13 Kills Leads Volleyball at DeSales Quad

Center Valley, PA – Freshman Alyssa Adams posted a team-high 13 kills on the day to lead the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team as they dropped a pair of matches to Messiah (18-8) and Rowan (20-5) at the DeSales University Quad on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
MATCH 1 – BOX SCORE
  • The Roos held a 10-8 lead early in the opening match before six straight points gave Messiah a 14-10 lead. The Falcons pulled away late to win the opening set 25-17.
  • Messiah controlled play in the second and third sets winning handily by scores of 25-7 and 25-8.
  • Adams led the attack for Canton with six kills, while Peyton Nadeau recorded a team-best 11 digs. Cadin Taggart chipped in eight digs defensively.
  • Caitlin Lielbriedis paced Messiah with12 kills, while Chayney Barnhart added seven kills.
 
MATCH 2 – BOX SCORE
  • SUNY Canton produced 31 kills on 95 attack attempts (.179) hitting percentage in their second match of the day but fell to Rowan by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-11. The Prof's hit .346 with 43 kills and just seven errors in the match.
  • Adams and Cassidy Werner led Canton with seven kills each. Werner hit a team-high .417 with seven kills and two errors on 12 attempts. Victoria Norton also had a strong outing with five kills and no error (.357 attack percentage).
  • Taggart also finished with five kills and added six digs for the Roos. Kay Carlson recorded a team-best 14 digs, while Michaella DeCapua led the team with 15 assists.
  • Brianna Newson led Rowan with 10 kills, while Natalie Ogden, Isabel Kirchner and Courtney Rhoden supplied eight kills apiece.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos close out the regular season on Wednesday when they visit SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m.
