Adams Posts Career-High 12 Kills & Nadeau Adds Match-Best 18 Digs in Season Finale

Potsdam, NY – SUNY Canton freshman Alyssa Adams posted a career-best 12 kills and senior Peyton Nadeau finished with a match-high 18 digs as the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team closed out their 2021 season with a 3-1 loss at SUNY Potsdam on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SUNY Potsdam jumped out to a 7-3 advantage in the opening set and extended the lead to 20-13 on their way to a 25-20 first set victory.
  • The teams played an extremely even second set as they were tied at 11-11 midway through the stanza. The Roos led 24-20 but Potsdam rallied for four straight points to draw even at 24 apiece. Canton bounced back with back-to-back kills from Cassidy Werner and Victoria Norton to clinch the second set, 26-24.
  • The Bears controlled play over the final two sets closing out the match in four sets with 25-12 and 25-14 wins.  
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Adams tied a match-high with 12 kills which exceeded her previous season-best of 10 kills at SUNY Poly (10/9) by two. Werner, Norton and Emily Dreyer added five kills apiece, while Werner and Norton combined for five blocks.
  • Peyton Nadeau paced the team defensively with a match-best 18 digs in her final match in a Canton uniform, while Cadin Taggart recorded 16 digs.
  • Bailey Nadeau dished out 12 assists, Michaella DeCapua added 11 assists and Laura Clements finished with eight. Peyton Nadeau led the team with two aces.
