Canton, NY – Freshman
Victoria Norton recorded a team-best seven kills to lead the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team in a 3-0 loss (22-25, 22-25, 19-25) to visiting SUNY Cobleskill in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening set behind the service game of Michaella DeCapua and the Roos led 12-7 midway through the set. Following a Cobleskill timeout the Tigers rattled off nine straight points to open a 16-12 advantage, forcing a Canton timeout. The teams were tied at 18-18 and 21-21 before the Tigers scored four of the final five points for the opening set win.
- Cobleskill led 12-6 in the second stanza and 20-13 later in the frame. Canton used an 8-0 run that included five errors from Cobleskill to take a 21-20 lead. The Tigers responded with five of the final six points to secure the second set, 25-22.
- The Roos led 11-8 in the final set before a 5-0 run gave Cobleskill the lead for good. Canton got within 19-8 but once again Cobleskill finished a set strong with six of the final seven points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Norton led Canton with seven kills and three blocks, while Alyssa Adams and Gabrielle Durant had six putdowns each. Peyton Nadeau led the team with 11 digs and added two aces, while Kay Carlson and Nicole O'Connor had nine digs apiece.
- DeCapua produced team-highs of 12 assists and three aces to go with her five digs. Bailey Nadeau chipped in 10 assists and six digs.
- Abigail Scheurich and Alexis Miranda supplied eight kills each for Cobleskill, while Mackenzie Larson added seven. Maleigha Ellithorpe dished out 23 assists and Kelley Miller registered 12 digs.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos are back in NAC action on Sunday when they host SUNY Delhi at 12 p.m.
