Canton, NY – Brett Bannister and
Tyson Bruce recorded a pair of goals each but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team was unable to overcome a four-goal first period deficit en route to a 7-4 loss to Bryn Athyn College on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors established the momentum early on scoring just 26 seconds into the contest off the stick of Sheldon Brett. Brett Dillon (5:08), Peter Falivena (9:15) and Tanner Schroeder (17:41) all added first period goals as the Lions led 4-0 after one.
- Bannister scored his third goal in two days as he got Canton on the board at 9:25 of the third converting short-handed.
- Vojtech Luza regained the four-goal lead for Bryn Athyn just over six minutes later as the visitors led 5-1 after two.
- Bruce trimmed the lead to three on his seventh goal of the season at 6:51 of the third, but Dakota Ulmer made it 6-2 at the 11:25 mark on his sixth of the season.
- The hosts responded with Bannister and Bruce goals just over two minutes apart to get within 6-4. Jesse Farabee and AJ D'Orazio picked up helpers on the Bannister tally and Sean Shepard and Sean David were credited with assists on the Bruce goal.
- Canton pulled Michael Cerasuolo for the extra attacker with 1:56 remaining but Luza sealed the win with an empty-netter with 46 seconds to play.
- Austin Washkurak made six saves and allowed four goals in the start, while Cerasuolo turned aside 17 shots surrendering two goals in relief. Ismael Ralsten turned aside 32 shots for the Lions.
