George Nehma (15) all scored in double figures as the men's basketball team won its eighth straight contest to improve to 9-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play following a 65-40 win at NVU-Johnson on Saturday.
The Roos limited the Badgers to just 40 points in the contest, the fewest points surrendered in five years. SUNY Canton sits just half a game behind Maine Farmington (9-0) for first place in the NAC standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Santana, DuBois and Nehma paced SUNY Canton with double digit points as the three combined to shoot 50 percent (18-for-36) from the field. Joseph Werner and Ibu Smith added six points each with Werner pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.
- The 40 points given up by the Roos are a season-low and the fewest scored by an opponent v. the Roos since November 21, 2015 when SUNY Poly scored 40 in a 56-40 Roos win. That same season SUNY Canton held Albany College of Pharmacy to 36 points (12/6/15).
- Kiyl Mack was the lone Badgers player to reach double digits with 12 points.
- SUNY Canton held NVU-Johnson to 30.2 percent shooting for the game, while hitting on 41.4 percent of their own shots.
- The Badgers led by one point early but the Roos opened up as much as an 11-point advantage (26-15) in the first half. Canton took a 30-22 lead into intermission.
- The Roos opened up an 18-point lead over the first 11:44 of the second half and cruised to the victory.

The Roos return to action on Friday when they host Maine Farmington in a key NAC showdown at 7 p.m.
