Alfred, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team outscored host Alfred State by nine after intermission to earn a 16-6 win in non-league action on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Yelvington led all players with four goals and one assist, while Hunter Olsen added three goals and one assist. Andrew Garrett chipped in a pair of goals and assists, while Jacob Facey and Noah Robinson tallied two goals and one assist each.
- Dante Coco, Brandon Schmidt and Jordan Amezquita also had goals for the Roos. Yelvington totaled six ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers, while Nick Walberger was 14-for-19 in the X with four ground balls. Schmidt and Eli Kocsis also recorded four ground balls each.
- Canton scored three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead late in the first quarter and the Roos led 6-5 at intermission behind a Facey goal with 1:23 left in the half.
- It was all Roos after the half as Canton outscored the Pioneers 6-0 in the third quarter and 10-1 over the final 30 minutes.
- Kody Kocsis was impressive in net stopping 15 shots on the afternoon. Matt Cobb made 18 saves for Alfred State.
- Joe Johnson paced the Pioneers with three goals and one assist, while Nic Covelli added two goals and one assist.
