Canton, NY – Devin Kelly and
MaryClare Bowes combined for seven goals and the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team's defense shut down visiting Plattsburgh State in a 14-4 non-conference win on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kelly led all players with four goals and two assists, while Bowes added three goals and one helper. Erin Parks and Stephanie Thayer scored twice each, while Logan Bush tallied a goal and two assists. Mia Jermano and Jessica Pele also scored for the Roos.
- The teams exchanged early goals before the Roos rattled off eight straight scores to lead 9-1 at intermission. The Roos continued to control play scoring the first five goals out of intermission to extend the goal streak to 13 consecutive scores.
- Canton held the Cardinals to just a single goal over the first 54 minutes and 14 seconds of the contest. Plattsburgh scored three goals in the final six minutes as the Roo reserves saw plenty of action.
- Kelly, Bush and Cecelia Neally recorded two draw controls each, while Jermano and Madison Leary registered three ground balls apiece. Bowes caused three turnovers, while Jermano, Kelly and Maddy Weir forced two Cardinal turnovers each.
- Leary made one save in the first half for her second win, while Nicole Piskorowski stopped four shots in the second 30 minutes.
- Alexa Cassidy made six saves in the loss for Plattsburgh. Allie Vangas paced the visitors with two goals, while Reece Wiley and Claire Wiley also scored.

The Roos open up play on their spring break trip in Florida on Tuesday when they square off with Fitchburg State on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
