Cazenovia, NY – Hunter Olsen and
Josh Yelvington supplied four goals and one assist each as the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team fell 14-13 in a non-conference road contest at Cazenovia on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In addition to five points each from Yelvington, Andrew Garrett tallied three goals and one assist, while Brad Sandroni added a goal and assist. Noah Robinson also scored once for the Roos.
- Canton jumped out to a 4-3 lead after the first quarter and the teams went into intermission tied at seven apiece. The Wildcats outscored the Roos 5-2 in the third quarter and led 14-11 after a Connor Smith goal with 5:49 to play in the game.
- Garrett and Yelvington recorded back-to-back goals to get Canton within 14-13 with 3:44 to play.
- Caz committed a penalty with 3:09 remaining giving the Roos an extra-man opportunity but a pair of shots went wide and Matt Deyette came up big making a save on a Sandroni shot. The sophomore followed that up with another shot attempt with 20 seconds remaining but Deyette made his 19th save of the game to seal the win.
- Justin LaDuke turned aside 11 shots for Canton.
- Nick Walberger and Garrett Fields picked up team-highs of four ground balls each, while Yelvington and Brandon Schmidt caused three turnovers each.
- Smith led Cazenovia with four goals and two assists, Brock Post added two goals and three assists and Joe Timm found the back of the net three times.
- Canton held the upper hand in shots on goal (32-25) and ground balls (31-21), while faceoffs were dead even at 15 apiece.

The men's lacrosse team visits Wells College in non-conference action on Saturday at 12 p.m.
