Five Players Record Hat Tricks in 19-3 NAC Win v. Farmington

Waterville, ME – Five different players recorded hat tricks as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team scored the first 10 goals of the contest to earn a 19-3 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win v. Maine Farmington in a game played at Thomas College on Sunday afternoon.

The Roos improve to 6-1 overall and remain unbeaten at 3-0 in NAC play, while the Beavers drop to 1-5 and 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Molly Denny led all players with three goals and four assists, while MaryClare Bowes and Stephanie Thayer posted three goals and one assist each. Erin Parks and Logan Bush also finished with hat tricks with three scores each.
  • Freshman Lindsey Ingram tallied two goals and an assist, while Mia Jermano and Jessica Pele also found the back of the net. Denny, Jermano and Erin Grandaw recorded four ground balls each, while Grandaw added a team-best two caused turnovers. Bush and Pele picked up team-highs of four draw controls.
  • Canton jumped out to a 10-0 lead just over midway through the opening half as Denny recorded an early hat trick and and Bush scored two each during the strong start. Parks scored twice in a three-minute span as Canton took a 12-1 lead into intermission and cruised to the victory.
  • The Roos dictated play throughout controlling shots on goal (34-5), turnovers (17-34), ground balls (24-16) and draw controls (13-11).
  • Isabella Monbouquett paced the Beavers with a goal and assist.
  • Madison Leary stopped one shot in the first half to improve to 6-0 on the season, while Nicole Piskorowski made one save after halftime. Heather Boland made 10 saves in the opening half as she was credited with the loss for UMF.

The women's lacrosse team visits Clarkson University on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
