Canton, NY – All four winter sports were in action last week as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a weekend road North Atlantic Conference sweep at Maine Farmington.
Women's Basketball
Antanasia Chambers averaged 13.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game to lead the Roos to a pair of 60-49 and 56-49 wins at Maine Farmington.
Breanna Cullers posted aa game-high 25 points, while Chambers tallied her seventh double-double of the year with 17 points and 14 rebounds in Friday's win. Chambers and Watkins both totaled 10 points each in Saturday's victory.
Women's Hockey
Kelly Leathem scored her third goal of the season to lead the Roos to a 1-1 overtime tie at Morrisville State (12-6-2) on Saturday.
Whitney Bernier scored her second goal of the season in Friday's 2-1 loss.
Noelle Niemiec assisted both goals on the weekend, while
Brooke Susac stopped 50 of the 53 shots she faced on the weekend.
Men's Basketball
Robert Holliday, Jr. stuffed the stat sheet averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from three-point range in a pair of road losses (98-75, 77-75 OT) on Friday and Saturday. The junior posted a team-high 14 points on Friday and a game-high 25 points on Saturday.
Men's Hockey
Austin Washkurak made 24 saves on 25 shots in relief but No. 2 nationally-ranked SUNY Geneseo scored four first period goals to earn a 5-0 win v. the Roos on Saturday. The win was the 16th straight for the Knights (19-1-1), who haven't lost a game since November 9th.
