Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's basketball team and Head Coach Chris Klassen have released the team's 2026-27 schedule. The Roos have a 25 game regular season schedule that includes 11 home games and a trip out west to California in their third season in the SUNYAC.
 
The team's slate includes 16 SUNYAC contests. With Alfred State. Cobleskill and Delhi joining the conference this year, the league now consists of 12 schools and is split into the East Division (Canton, Cobleskill, Delhi, Oneonta, Plattsburgh, Potsdam) and the West Division (Alfred State, Buffalo State, Cortland, Fredonia, Morrisville, Oswego).
 
The league slate includes a home and away contest against each of the other five teams in your division along with one game each (three home, three away) against the other six teams in the other division.
 
After a scrimmage on Halloween, the Roos open the regular season with a weekend road trip to Ohio to visit Franciscan and Kent State Tuscarawas on November 6 and 7, respectively. The team will host its next three contests welcoming Clarkson (11/10), Paul Smith's (11/16) and Bryant & Stratton Syracuse (11/20) to the friendly confines of Stan Cohen Court.
 
The team heads to the West Coast around the Thanksgiving holiday with a scrimmage at Occidental in Los Angeles the Tuesday before the holiday. The two days after Thanksgiving the team will take on Pomona Pitzer (11/27) and Claremont Mudd-Scripps (11/28).
 
The Roos return back to New York to open SUNYAC play at Plattsburgh (12/4) and Cobleskill (12/5). The team wraps up their first semester of games with their SUNYAC home opener against Alfred State on December 12. Following the semester and Christmas break, the team rounds out 2026 at the Sandy DeWolf McCormack Memorial Holiday Tournament squaring off with host Nazareth (12/29) along with Misericordia (12/30).
 
   
The entire 2027 portion of the schedule will be within league play as the team plays 13 SUNYAC contests. The first three will come with home matchups against Oneonta (1/8), Delhi (1/9) and Potsdam (1/15). The team's next four tilts come on the road at Oswego (1/22), Morrisville (1/23), Delhi (1/29) and Oneonta (1/30).
 
The Roos will enjoy a nice four game homestand to kick off February hosting Buffalo State (2/5), Fredonia (2/6), Cobleskill (2/12) and Plattsburgh (2/13), before closing out the regular season at Potsdam (2/17) and at Cortland (2/20).
 
The Roos will look to qualify for their third straight SUNYAC Tournament. The top two seeds earn first round byes with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting first round games on February 23. The No. 1 overall seed hosts championship weekend with two semifinal games on February 26 and the championship game on February 27. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
