Men’s Lacrosse Opens 2019 at Clarkson

Potsdam, NY – The Roos received goals from four different players in the fourth quarter but a hot start lifted host Clarkson University to a 22-4 win v. the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team in the season opener for both teams on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Clarkson was firing on all cylinders as they led 5-0 after the opening quarter and took a commanding 12-0 lead into intermission.
  • The Golden Knights outscored Canton 8-0 in the third quarter to take a 20-0 lead after three.
  • Dante Coco got the Roos on the board 5:05 into the fourth off a pass from Andrew Garrett. Hunter Olsen, Jacob Facey and Noah Robinson added unassisted markers in the fourth quarter for the 22-4 final.
  • Justin LaDuke made 20 saves over the first three quarters, while Parker Hornung turned aside seven shots in relief in the fourth. Kevin Dyckman made three saves in the first 33 minutes for the win, while Alexandre Michaud (3 saves) and Matt Yonko (2 saves) saw time in relief.
  • Evan Burgett led Clarkson with three goals and three assists, while Connor Bartlett totaled three goals and two assists. Pierce Currie and Peter Herrick also recorded hat tricks for Clarkson.
