Routledge Scores Twice as Men’s Hockey Earns 3-2 Win at Skidmore

Saratoga Springs, NY – Max Routledge found the back of the net twice including the game-winner 29 seconds into the third period to lead the men's hockey team to a 3-2 road win at Skidmore College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Brett Bannister opened the scoring at 17:51 of the opening period scoring his first collegiate goal on the power play off the setup from Reily McIntosh. Skidmore, who was receiving votes in the latest USCHO Top 15 Poll, evened the score at one apiece off the stick of Nicolas Stuckless with 38 seconds left in the opening period.
  • Routledge gave the Roos the lead at 8:04 of the middle period off a pass from Sean David.
  • The Thoroughbreds tied the game at two when Matthew Rutigliano scored his first goal of the season.
  • Routledge put home the Roos second power play goal of the contest 29 seconds into the third period, which proved to be the eventual game-winner. Kyler Matthews and Tyson Bruce earned helpers on the skater advantage score.
  • Michael Cerasuolo made 30 saves in the win for the Roos including 22 saves over the final two periods. Brandon Kasel made 31 stops for the Thoroughbreds.
