Canton, NY – Andrew Fitch scored 14 of his team-high 16 points after halftime but after a hard-fought contest the SUNY Canton men's basketball team fell, 89-68, to No. 13 nationally-ranked Middlebury College on Thursday evening in the Roos House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos trimmed a 25 point halftime deficit to as few as 13 (69-56) with 8:49 remaining after Juztin Chambers-Phillips found Fitch for a top of the key trey. Â
- The Panthers responded with a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 19 and eventually took a 20 point lead with just over two minutes remaining as both teams turned to their reserves.
- Middlebury led by as many as 27 in the opening half and took a 50-25 lead into intermission.
- The Panthers hit seven of their 16 three-pointers in the opening half including a 3-for-6 mark for Ryan Cahill, while Tommy Eastman hit both his threes. Middlebury led 50-25 at intermission.
- Fitch led Canton with 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting to go with seven rebounds and three blocks. He scored 14 points in the second half hitting on six of his eight field goals.
- Quran DuBois tallied 13 points, while Joseph Werner finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Danny Santana chipped in nine points and five rebounds, while Kahdean Bennett dished out a team-best four assists.
- The Roos shot 50 percent from the field (17-for-34) scoring 43 points in the second half.
- The Panthers hit 50 percent of their 72 field goal attempts and knocked down 12 three-pointers.
- Jack Farrell paced Middlebury with 17 points, while Cahill (15), Max Bosco (13) and Eastman (12) all reached double figures. Griffin Kornaker posted a game-best seven assists.
