Utica, NY – Three players found the back of the net and
Michael Cerasuolo backstopped the SUNY Canton men's hockey team with 45 saves as the Roos completed an unbeaten weekend to start the season with a 3-3 overtime tie at No. 13 nationally-ranked Utica College on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tyson Bruce, Matthew Headland and AJ D'Orazio provided the scoring for SUNY Canton, while Jesse Farabee dished out a pair of assists.
- The Roos got on the board first on the power play at 11:29 of the opening period as Farabee assisted a Bruce goal. The score marked his 21st point in just 16 games in a Roo uniform.
- Daniel Fritz leveled the score at one with 17 seconds left in the opening period on the skater advantage.
- Tyler Pietrowski gave the Pioneers their first lead of the game at 16:28 of the second, once again coming with the extra skater.
- Headland picked up the first score of his rookie season burying a power play goal at 5:45 of the third off the setup from Farabee.
- D'Orazio gave the Roos a 3-2 lead at 8:57 when he put home his first goal in a Roos uniform beating the goaltender top shelf blocker side off a 2-on-1.
- Neither team could find the go-ahead goal in regulation as Canton and Utica skated to overtime.
- The Roos had a great opportunity late in the extra session coming out of a time out with less than 10 seconds to play. Canton won a faceoff and Sean David's shot just in front of goal was saved by Utica goaltender Gianluca Baggetta.
- Cerasuolo turned aside double-digit shots in all three periods to up his save total to 91 through two contests.
- Baggetta made 24 stops for the Pioneers.
- The Roos went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Utica was 2-for-5.

The Roos return to the ice on Tuesday when they host St. Michael's College in their home-opener at 7 p.m.
