Presque Isle, ME – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team outscored host Maine Presque Isle 11-8 in overtime to secure a 78-75 victory on the road in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Robert Holliday, Jr. and Brandon Adkisson paced Canton with 17 points apiece, while Jordan Stewart added 16 points. Joseph Werner and Andrew Fitch supplied nine and eight points, respectively, while combining for 25 rebounds.
- The Roos trailed 64-60 with 1:49 remaining in regulation but Holliday, Jr. got the Roos within one on a three-pointer with 1:33 to play. Adkisson made four straight free throws to give Canton a 67-64 lead with 19 seconds remaining.
- Canton was called for goaltending on a three-pointer with five seconds remaining that tied the game and was unable to get a shot off in the final seconds as the teams played to OT.
- The visitors took a two-point lead with 1:08 remaining in the extra session on a Stewart layup and he added a pair of free throws with 40 seconds remaining to extend the lead to four. UMPI hit a trey to cut the lead to one and Danny Santana split a pair of free throws with 3 seconds remaining.
- The Owls missed a shot attempt inside with six seconds left but Adkisson split a pair of free throws to keep the lead within one possession at 78-75 with two seconds remaining. UMPI was unable to get a shot off in the final second as they turned the ball over resulting in the Roos win.
- The difference in the game came at the free throw line as the Owls were whistled for 28 fouls, while Canton committed just 12. SUNY Canton went 34-for-43 from the charity stripe, while UMPI was 7-for-13.
- Shyquinn Dix led all players with 34 points for the Owls, while Te'Von Hines tallied 11 points and nine rebounds.

"I thought that we had a really gutsy effort today," Head Coach
Ben Thompson said. "We weren't perfect, but we battled through together and were able to get both wins this weekend."
