Puerto Rico Benefit Set for April 9th at SUNY Potsdam

Canton, NY – There will be a Puerto Rico benefit held on Monday, April 9th at 7:30 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam's Sara M. Snell Theater at the Crane School of Music.

Crane School of Music pianist Julie Miller will play Puerto Rican and Argentinian music, and astronomer and physicist Dr. Aileen O'Donogue from St. Lawrence University will discuss her research in Puerto Rico.

The Crane Latin Ensemble will conclude the presentation, then Puerto Rican SUNY Canton students will be happy to greet the public in the lobby. The SUNY Canton baseball relief effort is led by Head Coach Joe Carbone and Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Victor Rivera, with Miller and Jane Wells assisting, representing the Potsdam First Presbyterian Church.

One relief trip has already taken place and several others are being planned for the future. All volunteers pay their own expenses, and all money raised provides items directly to hurricane survivors. Tax-deductible donations may be given at the event, or mailed to:
