Alfred, NY – Robert Holliday, Jr. led the Roos with 17 points but host Alfred University earned a 76-57 victory in non-league action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holliday was the lone Canton player to finish in double figures with 17 points shooting 6-for-11 from the field. Jordan Stewart chipped in nine points and three assists and Andrew Fitch and Danny Santana totaled seven points apiece. Fitch hauled down a team-best seven rebounds.
- The Saxons opened the game on a 15-0 run holding the Roos scoreless over the opening five minutes until Holliday hit a three-pointer. Alfred led by as many as 21 in the opening half before Canton closed the half on a 6-0 run to trail 39-24 at intermission.
- Canton trimmed the deficit to 10 at 47-37 with 14:21 remaining after a pair of Santana free throws but the Saxons responded with a 12-2 run to balloon the lead to 20 mid-way through the half. The Roos were only able to get within 13 the remainder of the way.
- Dom LeMorta paced the Saxons with 20 points, while Sage Brown (17), Cole Eells (15) and Brewster Marshall (12) all scored in double figures.
- Alfred turned 13 Canton turnovers into 24 points, while Canton scored 13 points off just eight Saxon turnovers.
