McMaster Posts 24 Kills at Pitt Bradford Tri-Match

Bradford, PA – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the Pitt Bradford Tri-Match.

The Roos fell to the host Panthers 3-1 (25-23, 13-25, 11-25, 23-25) before the Tomcats outlasted SUNY Canton in five sets 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 21-25, 25-19, 10-15).

Match 1 – Box Score
The Roos edged out the host Panthers, 25-23 in the opener but Pitt Bradford bounced back with a pair of convincing wins, 25-13 and 25-11 in the second and third sets before surviving 25-23 for the four set win.

Melissa McMaster posted a team-high 14 kills hitting .429 (14-2-28), while Marissa Ixtlahuac and Tatum Lafrance added nine kills apiece with Lafrance adding eight digs. Skye Hansen finished with seven kills and 10 digs and Jenna Roat tallied a team-best 19 digs. Peyton Robinson dished out 38 assists to go with 15 digs.

Match 2 – Box Score
SUNY Canton earned wins in the first and fourth sets with the Tomcats securing victories in the second, third and fifth sets to earn the win. No team won a single set in the match by more than six points in what proved to be an even match.

Brynna Harris and McMaster posted 10 kills each, while combining for 11 blocks, eight of which came from McMaster. Marissa Ixtlahuac tallied eight kills, while Jenna Roat added 25 digs. Alyssa Almada and Lafrance recorded 12 digs each with Almada dishing out a team-high 16 assists. Robinson chipped in 14 assists and eight digs.
