Fredonia, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule dropping a pair of matches on Saturday at the Fredonia Tournament.
The Roos fell 3-0 (13-25, 14-25, 20-25) to host Fredonia in the opener before dropping a five-set match to Houghton 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 11-15).

The Roos fell in straight sets to host Fredonia in the opener.
Peyton Nadeau and
Marissa Ixtlahuac led the offense with five kills each. The five putdowns are a new career-high for Nadeau.
Peyton Robinson dished out 18 assists and added nine digs, while
Sydney Uthe tallied eight digs.
Match 2 – Box Score
SUNY Canton jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second match but Houghton earned victories in the second and third sets. The Roos pulled out a 25-23 victory in the fourth to force a decisive fifth set but the Highlanders survived, 15-11, for the victory.
Marissa Ixtlahuac led the Roos with 15 kills hitting .300 (15-3-40), while
Tatum Lafrance,
Skye Hansen and
Melissa McMaster all finished with nine kills each. Robinson assisted 43 kills and added 16 digs, while
Jenna Roat chipped in 18 digs defensively.
