Potsdam, NY – Danny Santana scored a career and game-high 21 points leading a furious run to end the first half but host SUNY Potsdam held off the Roos, 73-70, on Tuesday evening in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.

After a back-and-forth affair, early host Potsdam (7-6) opened up a 13-point advantage at 32-19 following a Dante Langley three-pointer with four minutes remaining in the opening half.

The Roos (3-11) roared back on a 16-0 run that included 11 points and three hits from downtown from
Danny Santana to take a 35-32 lead 3 minutes, 37 seconds later. The Bears closed the half on a 3-0 run to tie the game at 35 at intermission.

Santana led all players with 14 points in the opening half, while
Adrian Williams added 10. Langley (8) and Serigne Kane paced the Bears with eight and seven, respectively.

Neither team led by more than four points over the final 18 minutes of the game in what proved to be a tightly contested second half. The Bears led 71-67 with 30 seconds remaining. Santana split a pair of free throws to trim the lead to three and a Joey Werner steal and layup with nine seconds left cut the lead to 71-70.

Kevin Baksh hit two clutch free throws with eight seconds remaining and a Santana three-pointer with three seconds left just missed off the back rim as the Bears held on for the 73-70 win.

Santana led all players with 21 points including hitting four three-pointers, while Williams added 19 points and four assists. Werner (11) and
Jordan Stewart (10) also scored in double figures.

Langley and Kane posted 19 and 15 points, respectively, for Potsdam, while Danny Delsol-Lowry chipped in 11 points.
