Pease and Deveny Score Two Each in 6-1 Men's Hockey Win v. King's

Canton, NY – Zach Pease scored his first career goals finishing with two goals and an assist and Joe Deveny added a pair of scores as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team earned a 6-1 win v. King's College on Friday.

The Roos (5-11-2) converted on their first power play of the game when Kasey Kulczycki fed a cross-ice pass from right to left to Tyler Ralph. He hit Zach Pease with the puck below the left circle and Pease jammed home a shot underneath the pad of Jake Tugnutt for the early lead midway through the opening period.

Canton doubled their lead at 13:10 of the middle period when Pease poked the puck to Tyler Ralph whose initial shot was saved by Tugnutt but Joey Vocino buried the rebound top shelf over the blocker for his fifth goal of the season.

Less than a minute later Joe Deveny slotted his team-leading 14th goal of the season when he batted a Josh Sova rebound out of the air. Luke Hincebergs also earned a helper on the play. The Roos added another score just over a minute later when Vocino picked off a pass and hit Pease on a 2-on-1 to his right for his second goal of the evening. Canton held a 26-12 shots through two periods.

The Roos added a fifth goal in the third period when Bullard hit Sova with a breakout pass in the neutral zone and he left the puck for Deveny who beat Tugnutt short side. Canton closed the scoring for Canton at 18:12 when Stuart Fierheller fed the puck cross ice in the defensive zone to Kulczycki. He fed the puck up to Patrick Farnan as they skated 2-on-1 and Farnan beat Tugnutt across the face of goal.
