Canton, NY – Josh Sova scored his eighth goal of the season but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team fell 2-1 on the road at No. 10 nationally-ranked Hamilton College on Sunday evening.
The Continentals (10-5-1) opened the scoring at 16:57 of the first period on Sterling Bray's first goal of the season. Hamilton doubled its lead at 6:43 of the second period on the power play.
The Roos (5-12-2) got within one just 11 seconds into a skater advantage as Sova finished his eighth of the season off passes from
Joe Deveny and
Joey Vocino.
Canton pulled the goalie with 51 seconds remaining and got one shot attempt off that sailed wide as Hamilton held on for the victory. Â
Austin Washkurak stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced in the loss, while Anthony Tirabassi made 17 saves in the win. Canton went 1-for-2 on the power play, while killing four of its five penalties.
