Oswego, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team split the final two games of their four-game series in the Oswego State Tournament on Saturday afternoon, which featured seven teams. The Roos bounced back today, earning a 3-1 win over the Bard College Raptors in their first match of the day. They faced the eventual co-champions St. John Fisher in the second game to close out the weekend. For SUNY Canton, junior setter

Versus Bard College, SUNY Canton took the first set 25-20 after surging behind a 7-1 rally. In the second set, a 9-2 rally brought the Roos back from a slight deficit to winning the set 25-19. The Raptors bounced back to take the third set 25-21, but there was no holding the Roos back from winning the fourth and final set as they took that one soundly, 25-7. All-Tournament Team honoree
Peyton Robinson tallied 23 assists to lead all players.
Shea Norton (Batavia, NY) proved yet again to be an offensive force as she scored 22 points for the Roos. Eight different players got in on the scoring, including
Marissa Ixtlahuac (Carthage, NY),
Skye Hansen (Rochester, NY) and Jordan Dormandy (Kinderhook, NY). They recorded 11, seven, and 6.5 points respectively to support Norton's performance. Defensively,
Jenna Roat led the team with 14 assists as seven others, including
Sydney Uthe (Honeoye Falls, NY) and
Jocelyn Racette (Port Kent, NY), contributed with four and five digs, respectively. Bard College was led by Phillippine Alba (13.5 points), Jewel Smith (18 assists), and Emily Anastasi (18 digs).

Facing St. John Fisher in the second match of the day, the Roos fell in three sets to the eventual Co-Tournament Champions (25-13, 25-15, 25-17). Norton led the team in kills with five, Dormandy followed her with three, and
Marissa Ixtlahuac (Carthage, NY) added two. Â Roat, Robinson, and Norton combined for 32 digs. Â
