Men’s Lacrosse Drops Road Tilt at Farmingdale State

Farmingdale, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team's offense struggled to get going in a 23-3 road loss at Farmingdale State on Monday afternoon.

The Rams (5-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter before Kyle Smith netted his first of the season off a pass from Josh Yelvington with 2:54 remaining in the first for the Roos (0-4). Farmingdale State added a man-up goal with just five seconds left to take a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter.

The hosts added six second quarter tallies to take a commanding 10-1 lead into intermission.

Farmingdale continued its string of goals scoring five straight out of halftime to open a 15-1 lead before Dante Coco slotted his first goal of the season off a pass from Trenton Yule. The Rams continued to control the game down the stretch leading to the 23-3 final.

Brandon Rodee led the Roos with six ground balls, while Andrew Bowes caused three turnovers defensively.

Kody Kocsis made 14 saves over the first three quarters, while Brennan Bueno turned aside five shots in relief. Brendan Shade made four saves over the first 37:40 in the win, while Jeremy Doucette and Mike Nicosia also saw time between the pipes for the Rams.
