Deveny Nets Team Leading 9th Goal as Roos Tie with Castleton

Canton, NY – After giving up an early goal, Joe Deveny scored his 9th of the season helping Canton tie Castleton University in their last game of 2017.

The Spartans (2-9-1) found the back of the net on an unassisted slap shot within the first three minutes of play. After fighting off two Spartan power plays, Tyler Bullard and Ben Beasley assisted Deveny for the equalizer with 1:44 remaining in the first period.

The score would remain knotted 1-1 through the second and third periods. Castleton managed seven shots on goal while got Canton peppered 16 shots on goal, neither goalie conceding.
The Roos had one final chance with 25 seconds left in overtime as Kasey Kulcsycki was threaded a pass close to the net but Spartans goalie, Ryan Mulder was able to get his pad in front just in time.

Roos goalie, Austin Washkurak turned aside 14 shots including one coming in overtime, while Mulder made 26 saves for the Spartans.
