Alfred, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team swept host Alfred State 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-17) to win the inaugural American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) championship on Sunday.

Sophomore Jenna Roat was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, while junior captain Peyton Robinson and sophomore Marissa Ixtlahuac were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Melissa McMaster led the Roos with 11 kills (11-2-22) hitting .409 in the championship match, while Shea Norton (9-3-21) and Ixtlahuac (7-0-15) hit .286 and .467, respectively. Jenna Roat totaled 10 digs and a match-best four service aces, while Robinson dished out a match-high 32 assists.

The Roos (12-21) had a remarkable performance posting a .322 hitting percentage (38-9-90) as a team, while forcing the Pioneers (12-17) to struggle to a .083 hitting mark (24-17-84) on their home court.

Bryanna Godfrey and Kiara Perkins led Alfred State with 10 and 8 kills, respectively, while Madison Webster totaled 17 digs.
