Canton, NY – Jordan Stewart led four players in double figures finishing with a season-high 18 points on just eight shot attempts as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned an 80-73 win v. Paul Smith's College on Tuesday evening in the Roos House.
Both teams struggled shooting early combining to go 8-for-34 from the field but the Roos used a key 10-2 run near the end of the first half to open up a 42-31 lead and took a 42-35 lead into intermission.
Brandon Adkisson led Canton with 10 points, while
Victor Bakre,
Danny Santana and
Adrian Williams posted seven points each. Shane Stone led all players with 13 points for the Bobcats.
The Roos extended their lead to as many as 15 following a pair of Stewart free throws with 7:33 remaining as they held off any Bobcat comeback bid pulling away for the 80-73 win.
Stewart paced Canton with 18 points hitting nine of his 10 free-throw attempts and four of his eight attempts from the field including a 3-for-4 effort on two-pointers in just 18 minutes. Bakre added 14 points, while Adkisson tallied a season-best 12 points and five assists.
Ibu Smith chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench, Santana added nine points and Williams totaled eight points and a team-high nine boards.
Shane Stone led Paul Smith's with a game-high 22 points, while Adam Seguin and Max Peguero added 17 and 13 points, respectively. SUNY Canton turned 22 Bobcat turnovers into 31 points and the Roo reserves outscored Paul Smith's bench, 42-12.
