Women’s Volleyball Splits on Saturday with Win v. Alfred State

Williamsport, PA – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team earned a split on Saturday at the Lycoming Tournament sweeping Alfred State 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20) before falling to Elizabethtown College 3-0 (7-25, 19-25, 10-25).

Match 1 – Box Score
The Roos earned a sweep by scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-20 in the opening match v. Alfred State. SUNY Canton struck for 29 kills compared to just 11 errors.
Shea Norton led the offense with 12 kills, while Marissa Ixtlahuac added six. Peyton Robinson totaled 24 assists and 11 digs for a double-double, while Jenna Roat added a team-high 15 digs. Jocelyn Racette was also strong defensively finishing with nine digs.

Kara Perkins paced Alfred State (5-11) with seven kills and 10 digs.

Match 2 – Box Score
SUNY Canton (6-15) struggled in its second match of the day posting 15 kills and 16 errors on 82 attack attempts. Ixtlahuac and Melissa McMaster led the Roos with four kills each, while Roat added 10 digs and Robinson posted 13 assists.

Elle Shatto led the Elizabethtown (11-6) offense with 11 kills, while Sarah Schneider added seven kills.

Robinson was named to the All-Tournament Team for her play throughout the weekend.
