Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team scored four goals in the second period to twice overcome a two-goal deficit but Bryce Ferrell netted a hat trick including the overtime game-winner on Saturday evening at Maxcy Ice Arena.
The Bears (5-9-2) took a 2-0 lead after the opening period behind goals from Ferrell and Dylan Vander Esch three minutes apart. Canton (6-10-2) responded with two straight goals off the sticks of

Tyler Bullard and Beasley set up Koivula's score.
Once again, Potsdam took a two-goal advantage as Ferrell tallied his second of the night, this one on the power play, and Nate Zweig added his second of the season less than a minute later. In a back-and-forth battle, the Roos slotted goals 2:04 apart from Bullard and Beasley.
Zweig gave the Bears a 5-4 lead at 11:55 of the third but the Roos were quick to respond, less than a minute later, as Vocino and
Kasey Kulczycki set up
J.P. Langlois' second goal of the season.
The teams skated to overtime and Ferrell netted his fifth of the season 1:19 in to give the Bears the win and the weekend split.
Josh Erickson made 38 saves for the Roos, while Nate Skidmore turned aside 31 shots in the win for Potsdam.
