Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday sweeping Southern Vermont College (25-13, 25-11, 25-8) before falling in four sets to host SUNY Potsdam (25-23, 25-12, 23-25, 25-17).

Match 1 – Box Score
Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) led the Roos with 10 kills, six digs and three service aces.
Haley Riley (Lowville, NY) posted nine kills, while
Melissa McMaster (Pittsford, NY) had a big match with eight putdowns and four blocks.
Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) produced 33 assists to go with three blocks.
Jenna Roat (Penfield, NY) and
Morgan Wicks (Hartford, NY) were solid defensively with 17 and 11 digs, respectively.

SUNY Canton hit .361 on 83 attack attempts in the match committing just nine errors, while the Mountaineers (2-5) posted 10 kills and 10 errors on 62 total attempts.

Match 2 – Box Score
Cornish once again led the team with a double-double on 12 kills and 11 digs in the nightcap, while McMaster totaled nine kills to go with her two blocks. Riley and
Shea Norton (Batavia, NY) floored eight balls apiece. Roat and Wicks continued their domination defensively with 28 and 14 digs, respectively.
Jocelyn Racette (Port Kent, NY) had an impressive outing totaling 13 digs, while Robinson posted 35 assists to go with her 11 digs.

The Roos and Bears finished with extremely similar hitting number both hitting just south of .200 and finishing with 40 kills each.

For her performance throughout the weekend Cornish was named to the All-Tournament Team.
