Roos Net Three Third Period Goals to Earn 4-3 Road Victory at Becker

Marlborough, MA – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team scored three third period goals to overcome a 3-1 deficit on Friday night to earn a 4-3 victory on the road against Becker College.

Reagan Lynn (Chicago, IL) and Rhea Coad (Wheatfield, NY) scored third period goals on the power play and Mariah McCue (Belleville, ON) scored the game-winner 10:11 into the final frame to lift the Roos to 5-14-1 overall and 5-3-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference play. Meanwhile, the loss dropped host Becker College to 2-17-0 overall and 2-7-0 in conference play.

Logan Conger (Tyendinaga, ON) got the scoring started just 54 seconds into the opening period when she netted her fourth goal of the season off a pass from Tess Adams (Calgary, AB). The visitors took a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The hosts scored three times in the middle period, all of which came from the special teams units. Catherine McShera scored shorthanded at 1:18 and Brittany Aiello and Ann Marie Manganiello added power play goals at 15:01 and 17:06 to give the hosts a 3-1 lead after two periods of play.

Lynn and Coad scored six minutes apart to start the final period to draw the Roos even to set up the eventual game-winner from McCue with 9:49 to play.

Rebecca DiNardo (Ottawa, ON) turned aside 16 shots in her fourth win of the season, while Julia Johnson made 28 saves in the loss for the Hawks.
