CHS BOX SCOREFredonia, NY – Host Fredonia scored four first period goals and added two scores in the final period to earn a 7-2 victory against visiting SUNY Canton on Friday evening in the opener of a weekend series at Fredonia.
Nick Lepone (Richmondhill, ON) got the scoring started at 5:16 of the first when he lit the lamp for the seventh time of the season off passes from
Tyler Ralph (Middletown, NJ) and
Kasey Kulczycki (Laval, QUE). White scored twice and Jimmy Morgan and Taylor Bourne added tallies as the Blue Devils led 4-1 after 20 minutes of play.
Bobby Polacheck scored his fifth of the season at 7:28 of the middle period as host Fredonia led 5-1 after two.
J.P. Langlois (Amos, QC) netted his second of the season midway through the third to get the Roos within three but Fredonia added a pair of special team markers for the 7-2 final.
Louie Puig (Chicago, IL) turned aside nine shots in the start, while
Josh Erickson (Woodbury, MN) made 13 saves in relief. Eric Bogart stopped 39 shots for the hosts in the win.
