Canton, NY – Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) scored a career-high 30 points but host St. Lawrence University used a key 11-2 run to earn a 95-81 victory at Burkman Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Fletcher was extremely efficient finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals shooting 13-for-17 from the field in 37 minutes. Despite battling early foul trouble Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) had a strong game posting 18 points, 11 assists and four steals on 6-for-12 shooting. Adrian Williams (Brooklyn, NY) and Walt Jeter (Fort Drum, NY) finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as the duo hit on three treys apiece.
Riley Naclerio led all players with 32 points on 11-for-16 shooting for the Saints (3-1), while Kyle Edwards and Kyle Kobis tallied 17 points apiece. Dom DeRegis also chipped in 11 points for St. Lawrence

The game was back-and-forth early as the Roos (1-2) jumped out to a 14-10 lead after a Williams three 5:47 in. Leading 35-30 with 4:40 remaining, the Saints closed the half on a 16-9 run to take a 51-39 advantage into intermission. Naclerio led all players with 19 points in the opening half, while Fletcher paced the Roos with 15.

The Saints opened up their largest lead of the game at 72-54 with 12:54 remaining after a DeRegis trey. St. Lawrence held a 14-point lead (76-62) with 10:12 remaining but the Roos went on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to cut the deficit to just four at 76-72 after a Fletcher layup.

St. Lawrence responded with 11 of the next 13 points to extend their lead to double digits at 87-74 with 3:48 remaining to secure the win. The Roos shot 49 percent from the field and 31 percent from deep, while St. Lawrence finished with marks of 51 and 40 percent, respectively. The Saints held a 42-28 edge in rebounding including a 12-6 mark on the offensive glass.

"Today's game was one where our effort wasn't where it needed to be consistently," Head Coach Ben Thompson said. "We have a chance to be a special team, but we have to be more focused in our approach. Tomorrow will be another good test for us on the road."
