Buffalo, NY – Host Buffalo State scored three first period goals as they earned a 4-0 win against the SUNY Canton men's hockey team on Friday.

Roberts Smits scored twice, while Michael Guerrera also found the back of the net to spot the Bengals a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Ben Butcher added an insurance goal 15:04 into the third period for the 4-0 final.

Buffalo State held a slim 25-20 edge in shots. Trenton Yule (Oswego, NY), Kasey Kulczycki (Laval, QUE) and Zach Pease (Toronto, ON) paced the Roos with three shots apiece.

Michael Cerasuolo (Montreal, QC) made 16 saves for the Roos, while Austin Washkurak (Oakville, ON) turned aside five shots over the final period. Mike DeLaVergne made 20 stops in the shutout for the Bengals.
