Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) eclipsed the 2,000 career assist mark as the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Susquehanna Tri-match on Saturday afternoon.

The Roos (11-12) fell to the host Crusaders (18-5) 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 14-25) before dropping a 3-0 (13-25, 18-25, 12-25) decision to Messiah College (18-3).

Game 1 – Box Score
The hosts jumped out to a 6-0 start in the opening set including three kills and a pair of service aces. The Roos roared back getting within 11-9 midway through the set. With Susquehanna leading 21-14 SUNY Canton rattled off seven consecutive points behind the service game of
Jenna Roat (Penfield, NY) to knot the frame at 21 apiece. Tara Mahoney finished off the opening set with a kill to help the hosts take the opening set 25-23.

The Crusaders opened up an 18-11 advantage en route to a 25-20 second set victory. Susquehanna led 16-9 in the third set on its way to earning the sweep, 25-14.

Haley Riley (Lowville, NY) led the offense with nine kills, while
Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) added seven kills and 10 digs. Roat and
Morgan Wicks (Hartford, NY) posted 22 and 10 digs, respectively, while
Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) dished out 25 assists as she surpassed the 2,000 career assist milestone.

Game 2 – Box Score
The Falcons outhit the Roos 42-24 in kills in the match hitting at a rate of .260 compared to just .058 for SUNY Canton. The Roos committed 17 errors which proved costly.

Cornish and Riley led the attack with seven kills apiece, while Cornish added 12 digs. Roat recorded a match-high 17 digs, while Robinson dished out 20 assists to go with her 11 digs.

The women's volleyball team is back in action next weekend when it hosts the SUNY Canton Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Roos open play v.
