Chestnut Hill, MA – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team went 3-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 11 seconds of overtime to seal a 94-91 win against Fisher College on Saturday afternoon in the Pine Manor College Tournament.
Tyler Shular hit two free throws with two seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 76 sending it to overtime. The Roos (13-3) outscored the Falcons (13-9) 18-15 in the extra session.
Vonallen Pickett (Brooklyn, NY) led all players with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while
Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) added 22 points and eight assists.
Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) and
Khalil Bratton (Queens, NY) added 11 points apiece, while
Walt Jeter (Fort Drum, NY) chipped in 10 in the scoring column.
SUNY Canton jumped out to a 13 point lead at 20-7 after Pickett drained a three-pointer with 11:04 remaining in the first half. The Roos took a 36-33 lead into intermission after Annorh hit from long distance with nine seconds left in the half.
The Roos opened their largest lead of the game at 15 with 9:57 left in regulation after Jeter scored a bucket inside. The Falcons chipped away at the lead before sending the game to overtime.
Shular led four players in double figures for Fisher with 21 points, while Kyle Holmes added 20 points. Malik Wilson posted a double-double with 12 point and 10 rebounds, while Aaron Penn added 10 points.
