Box ScoreOswego, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse defense surrendered just two scores over the first 30 minutes, but a strong second half carried host Oswego State to a 7-2 victory on Wednesday at South Athletic Field.
The Roos got on the board first midway through the second half as

Devin Gruneisen's (Potsdam, NY) third score of the season. Just less than two minutes later Luke Krizman caged his 10th of the season to draw the Lakers even at one.
In an extremely low scoring first half Kyle Wistner gave Oswego State a 2-1 lead 1:16 into the second quarter. The Roos trailed 2-1 at intermission thanks to six first half stops from senior
Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY).
The Lakers (6-5) scored the only goal of the third period from the stick of Troy Crevier taking a two-goal advantage after 45 minutes of play. Oswego scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter before
Cam Carter (Colonie, NY) netted his seventh of the season in a man-up opportunity. The Lakers would hold on for the 7-2 final.
Spuck was impressive in goal stopping 15 shots recording a .682 save percentage. Wyatt Russo made six saves in the win, while Troy Calkin turned aside one shot in 3:25 of relief.
Brandon Rodee (Canton, NY) and
Tony Carden (Franklin, MA) picked up a game-high five ground balls each for SUNY Canton. The Roos had one of their best games of the season winning seven of 13 face-offs as Gruneisen went 5-for-9 and
Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY) was 2-for-3 in the X.
