Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team never trailed as four different players produced multi-goal games in a 12-5 victory against Medaille College on Tuesday.
 
Jack Elberty (Canton, NY) led the way with his first collegiate hat trick and added two assists. Garrett DiTullio (Potsdam, NY) had a big game dishing out a game-best four assists to go with his two goals. Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY) and Ryan Cardiff (Albany, NY) also had multi-goal games with two goals and one assist each.
 Cam Carter (Colonie, NY), Luke DeGaetano (Canandaigua, NY) and Steve Novak (Seymour, CT) added the other goals for the hosts, while Novak also added a helper.
 
The Roos (2-9) opened the scoring 1:28 in on DeGaetano's first of the season off the set-up from Novak. After Mike Graziano tied the game at one for Medaille (2-10), Elberty caged his third of the season off the dish from Gamble as SUNY Canton led 2-1 after one.
 
Three different players netted goals in the second quarter to give the Roos a 5-3 lead at intermission. Five different players tallied goals in the opening half.
 
SUNY Canton controlled the game scoring the first five goals out of intermission. DiTullio slotted his second of the game and Cardiff followed with his 20th of the season. DiTullio fed Gamble who beat the goalie short side just as time expired in the third quarter to give Canton the 8-3 advantage.
 
Elberty and Novak scored goals 26 seconds apart early in the final period to give SUNY Canton a commanding 10-3 advantage. Elberty and Gamble rounded out the scoring for the Roos leading to the 12-5 final.
 
SUNY Canton controlled shots on goal (31-15), face-offs won (14-6) and ground balls (54-48). The clear game was crucial as the Roos were successful on 17 of their 22 attempts, while the Mavericks were just 22-for-40.
 
Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY) stopped seven shots in the win, while Andrew Fiske (Winthrop, NY) made three saves in relief over the final 8:03. David Groves turned aside 19 shots for Medaille.
