Box ScoreCazenovia, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-4 road decision to Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon.
Ryan Cardiff (Albany, NY) scored his fifth of the season to tie the game at 1-1 early in the first quarter. The host Wildcats (2-2) would rattle off five straight goals, three from the stick of Ben Wilson to open up a 6-1 advantage.
Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY) recorded back-to-back goals off passes from Cardiff to get SUNY Canton within 6-3 but Cazenovia scored twice to take an 8-3 edge into intermission.
Gamble earned the hat trick on his third of the game and ninth of the season midway through the third quarter to get the Roos (0-4) within four goals.
Garrett DiTullio (Potsdam, NY) earned an assist on the play.
The Wildcats controlled play down the stretch en route to the 13-4 victory.
Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY) stopped nine shots in net before being replaced by
Andrew Fiske (Winthrop, NY), who stopped two shots. Alex Delavan earned the win for Cazenovia making 10 saves, before Joe Harrison stopped two shots in relief.
