Box ScoreMarcy, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team held a two goal lead in the fourth quarter but three straight goals from host SUNY Polytechnic Institute including the game-winner with 40 seconds left gave the Wildcats an 8-7 victory on Saturday.
Neil Nembhard set up Andre Shattell for the game-winner with less than a minute to play for SUNY Poly (1-1).
Jared Jock (Hogansburg, NY) scored the opening goal of the contest midway through the opening period off a pass from
Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY). Poly would add two goals to lead 2-1 after one.
The Roos controlled the second stanza as they outscored the Wildcats 3-0 in the period.
Cam Carter (Colonie, NY) tied the game at 2-2 just less than five minutes into the second. With 2:52 remaining

Jack Elberty (Canton, NY) put the ball in the back of the cage with just 28 seconds left in the half as the Roos took a 4-2 lead into intermission.
Gamble and Cardiff slotted third period scores and Nick Levanti netted a pair for Poly as SUNY Canton maintained a two-goal lead heading into the final frame.
Shane Joswick made it 6-5 scoring 1:04 into the fourth for SUNY Poly. The Roos were quick to respond as Carter caged his second of the game just 42 seconds later. The Wildcats had the upper hand the remainder of the way.
Playing with a man down Levanti scored his fourth goal of the game with 12:12 remaining. He added his fifth tally with the man advantage with 5:30 to go knotting the game at 7-7 setting up Shattell for the game-winner.
Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY) stopped 12 shots in goal for the Roos, while RJ Ferrucci made 11 saves for Poly. Carter and Cardiff paced the Roos with two goals each, while Elberty picked up a team-best seven ground balls.
