Geneseo Uses Late Comeback to Get Past Men’s Hockey 4-3

– The SUNY Canton men's hockey team held a 2-0 lead but host SUNY Geneseo used a late comeback to earn a 4-3 victory on Saturday evening.

With the game tied at 3-3 Geneseo's Arthur Gordon slotted his third of the season with just 66 seconds remaining on the clock to seal a comeback win for the Blue Knights (2-0-2).

Gabe Flood (Onalaska, WI) opened the scoring 7:37 into the contest on his first career goal. Joe Deveny and Ben Beasley (Burlington, ON) earned helpers on the play. The Roos (1-3-0) opened up a 2-0 lead with just four seconds remaining in the opening period off the stick of Ben Beasley (Burlington, ON). George Curry (Schaumburg, IL) was credited with an assist on the play.

Geneseo got within one on the power play at 15:43 of the second period on a Matt Solomon score. The Roos held a 2-1 lead after two.
The Knights knotted the game at two at 2:31 of the third period on Connor Anthoine's first of the season. SUNY Canton responded just under three minutes later when Trenton Yule (Oswego, NY) buried his first of the season off the setup from Kasey Kulczycki (Laval, Que). Geneseo tied the game at 3-3 at 12:14 tallying a power play goal of their own on Trevor Hills fifth of the season.

Louie Puig (Chicago, IL) was tremendous in net making 36 saves on the night, while Devin McDonald turned aside 21 shots for the Knights. The men's hockey team is back in action on Friday when it hosts Buffalo State College at 7 p.m. in the Roos House.
