Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team earned a victory in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-17) over host SUNY Potsdam on Wednesday evening.
With the win the Roos improve to 24-7, while the Bears drop to 6-22. The Roos led 22-18 in the opening set but Potsdam battled back with four consecutive points to knot the score at 22.
Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) came up big with back-to-back kills and with the Bears facing set point at 24-23 Potsdam committed a service error to give the Roos the opening set.
SUNY Canton controlled play in the second and third stanzas with convincing victories, 25-16 and 25-17.
Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) led the team with nine kills and added 11 digs. Bills finished with a match-best eight service aces to go with seven kills, while
Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) and
Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, NY) recorded 17 and 14 digs, respectively.
Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) dished out 28 assists to go with her nine digs.
