Buffalo, NY – Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY) had a break-out performance netting seven goals including the game-winner with 1:43 left in overtime as the men's lacrosse team defeated host Medaille College in thrilling fashion, 13-12, Wednesday evening at All High Stadium.
Trailing 11-5 after three quarters of play the Roos (3-1) used a spirited comeback effort behind Gamble and company to upend the Mavericks (0-3). With 9:08 remaining in the game Gamble got SUNY Canton within 11-6 on an unassisted marker, his fourth goal of the contest.

Jason Thompson (Massena, NY) beat the goalie for the second time in the contest to make it 11-8 with 7:50 remaining. Pratt received an on-point pass from
Taylor Caswell (Potsdam, NY) to rip one in the back of the cage for his team-leading 12th of the season and
Cam Carter (Colonie, NY) followed with his third of the year to give the Roos five straight goals.
After SUNY Canton got within one on the Carter tally, Medaille increased the lead to two with 4:30 remaining. Gamble responded beating Maverick goalie Julian LaDelia twice in a 28 second span to knot the game at 12-12 with 3:09 remaining. The Roo defense came up huge down the stretch killing a one-minute penalty to send the game into overtime.
Once again SUNY Canton proved they could perform under pressure as the man-down unit staved off another one-minute penalty and carried that momentum forward to finish off the game. With 1:43 remaining in the first sudden death overtime it was Gamble who came up in the clutch completely the miraculous comeback as he beat LaDelia for the seventh time resulting in the thrilling victory.
Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY) played an impressive contest between the pipes for SUNY Canton stopping a remarkable 21 shots. LaDelia turned aside 12 shots in the loss. Pratt was solid offensively finishing with two goals and two assists, while Thompson had two goals and Caswell assisted two goals.
