(Potsdam, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton held off Johnson State College 62-48 Friday night in a non-conference women's basketball game at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall for their second straight victory.
SUNY Canton (3-5) overcame a cold start to shoot 45 percent from the floor, including 53 percent in the second half when they narrowly outscored the Badgers 36-34.

The Roos had staked a 9-0 lead at that point and went on to lead by12 at halftime, 26-14.
The Badgers did battle back to climb within two at 12-10 with 7:45 remaining but SUNY Canton then scored 13 unanswered points to go ahead by 15 points.
Julie Vander Wiel (Malone, N.Y.) had four points during that run and
Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) had three.
SUNY Canton stretched their lead to 21 points midway through the second half but watched the Badgers again fight back and crawl within nine points with 4:40 to go in the game. But the Roos again countered, this time with six straight points to pull away for the win.
LaFave scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Vander Wiel finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) came off the bench to contribute nine points and three assists.
