(Canton, N.Y.)- Senior guard Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) has been named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball.

Valentin is honored after he averaged 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in four games for the Roos last week.

Valentin scored 31 points and handed out nine assists with seven rebounds in an 87-83 overtime win over Morrisville State College. The previous night he had 36 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Clarkson University.

Valentin shot 42 percent from the field and from three-point range and connected on 17 of 18 free throws (.944).

The senior leads the conference in total 3-pointers made with 15 and is second in the conference in both scoring (21.8) and free throw percentage (.957).
