Sova had a monster game having a hand in three of the Roos four goals as they earned their first NCAA Top 10 win in school history defeating No. 8/12 Plattsburgh State 4-3 on the road. The senior captain scored a short-handed goal to give Canton a 3-1 lead at 5:22 of the second period and scored the eventual game-winner at 11:59 of the third period on the power play. He also assisted the Roos first goal just 38 seconds into the game to silence the road crowd of 1,876 at Ronald B. Stafford Arena.
