Witzel had an impressive performance having a hand in three of four SUNY Canton goals against Curry College on Saturday. The sophomore scored the Roos first goal of the game on the power play as he waited at the right post and received a pass from Dave Schneider (Indianapolis, IN) to get the hosts on the board. Witzel then set Schneider up in the second period with the skater advantage on a nice pass from the right post across the face of goal.

The Ottawa, Ontario native got the Roos within 5-4 at the 12:01 mark of the third period on a beautiful individual move. He deked right to left and snuck the puck through the five hole of the Curry goaltender. Witzel also had a shot on goal with less than five seconds remaining that nearly tied the game. The men’s hockey team is back in action in the New Year when they visit Johnson & Wales on January 3, 2015.
